The day starts with the children arriving to self-register as this provides them with an opportunity to encourage their independence and confidence.
We welcome the children on the carpet by singing, using sign language and looking at our time line.
Children are encouraged to choose from a variety of activities which provide opportunities for them to be challenged and finding out for themselves by exploring their environment and discovering what interest's them. Children have access to the outdoor play area during sessions where their learning continues. Our main aim is to promote child led activities.
The 'Snack Stop' is open from 10:00 to 11:00 and 13:00 to 14:00 each day. The children can visit the 'Snack Stop' during these times and sit down with friends to enjoy a selection of healthy snacks and a drink of milk or water. We use this as a social opportunity to talk to the children about healthy eating, exercise and self-care. Children provide their own named water bottles at all times.
We end both our morning and afternoon sessions with carpet time, having stories, puppet shows or dancing and singing.
